What Are The 2 Types Of Diaphragm Valves?

Apr 01, 2023 Zanechat vzkaz

There are two types of diaphragm valves:

1.Weir-type diaphragm valve: In this type of valve, the diaphragm is positioned over a weir or raised section of the valve body, which allows for more precise control of the flow rate. When the valve is open, the diaphragm is lifted off the weir, allowing the fluid to flow through the valve. When the valve is closed, the diaphragm is pressed down onto the weir, preventing the fluid from passing through.

2.Straightway or full bore diaphragm valve: In this type of valve, the diaphragm is held between two halves of the valve body, with the fluid flowing straight through the valve without any obstruction. When the valve is open, the diaphragm is lifted away from the valve seat, allowing the fluid to flow through. When the valve is closed, the diaphragm is pressed against the valve seat, forming a tight seal that prevents the fluid from passing through.
